HB 262 (Reps. Scott, Jordan, Thomas, Jones, and Anderson - D)

Sets the minimum beginning teacher's salary for a teacher with a bachelor's degree and 0 years experience at $50,000 beginning July 1, 2015 

and

Establishes a state salary schedule for Paraprofessionals and establishes the minimum beginning salary for a paraprofessional at $30,000 beginning July 1, 2015.

NOTE:

As needed as these provisions are and as welcome as this legislation would be to the education community, in our opinion, with continued recommendations for austerity reductions, it is unlikely that this bill will gain much support during the current legislative session.
